Here are a few from Ryan Adams' newest album. I enjoyed some of his previous work, but was never really all about his music until this album came out. Some of the songs on here have a really great Tom Petty/Bruce Springsteen vibe to them. Really great stuff.

I've liked stuff from various points in his career. I will say that it took me a few listens to really appreciate him, but by now I have 4 different 'favourite' albums of his and still really like a few others. Heartbreaker, Easy Tiger, Ashes and Fire and the new one are all fantastic to me and Gold is no slouch either. I'd love to see him play sometime - here's an older performance of a tune from Easy Tiger that I've always liked:

Man I love Ryan Adam's music. I also like the stuff from when he was in Whiskeytown. I also like that his sound changes between albums. It's really cool to me how his sound morphs and yet still has that Ryan Adams feel. It's kind of like a Z!

I've loved him from the Whiskeytown days. Saw some great shows by them.
Also was at the famous "poseur" show. I know the guy who yelled it at him. And frankly he deserved it. Truly awful show.
And I've seen him since and bought all of his records. He's a real deal talent. I might not like everything, and sometimes it seems he needs an editor. But I'm always interested in what he does.
The new ones really good.
He and Mandy Moore are breaking up now. So I expect something to come from that.

Whiskeytown's Strangers Almanac I liked a lot,but that new song gimme something good sounds too much like Gary Clark JR-not that there's anything wrong with that,i'd just rather listen to Gary sound like that.

Just saw this thread and I can't convey in words how much I like Ryan Adams. He's a true songwriter with a real gift. His albums certainly range and there are people who thought that anything that doesn't sound like Heartbreaker is crap. I disagree. Heartbreaker IS amazing and everyone should listen to it. But I love Gold just as much as Easy Tiger and Ashes and Fire. And "Goodnight Rose" just kills me! So good!
And did you guys hear about his entire cover of Taylor Swift's 1989? I love the idea of him reinterpreting her songs and I think it sounds great (no, I'm not a TS fan, but I can appreciate her songwriting chops).
One last thing, Adams is a total gearhead. Half of his instagram posts (yes I follow him, duh!) are about guitars or pedals. Way cool.

He's also a fan of Black Metal, like me.I like his version of T Swifts Bad Blood, the arrangement is very dream pop/ trippy.

Some of his versions from 1989 are pretty cool. It's interesting hearing a heavily produced pop album broken down with guitars and drums. Fun listen.
I'm really digging his 1984 EP. You can really hear his punk and hardcore influences come through. Really good stuff. Take a listen:

Yeah I really like some of his 1989 songs too. Makes me think about songwriting in a totally different light.
Yeah, the 1984 EP was good. Not really my speed, but it's hard not to like when he's singing.
