Just bought a Jaz 2x10 that a guy was getting rid of here in town. He basically moved all of the electronics over to a standalone head unit, and sold me the cabinet with the 2 10" speakers in it. I'm assuming these are wired in parallel and would be rated 8 ohms?

If you have a multimeter you can check the impedance of the cab by setting your multimeter to ohms and touching the probes to the the tip and sleeve of a cable connected to the jack. The reading will be somewhere around 75-80% of the actual impedance. At least that's what I was told years ago.

Check, but yes, Doc's 2x10 combos usually come with a pair of 16-ohm speakers wired in parallel. Both my MAZ and JAZ are so equipped.

The guy said he had less than 20 hours on the speakers, so I don't think he did much to it at all before he removed the electronics. Currently running a Vox AC4 head through it and falling in love with what will likely be my new recording rig!

Yeah, loving the 2x10! Was running the Vox into the 1x12 cabinet that it came with, and it just always sounded thin like a practice amp (it's not necessarily easy to make a 4 watt head sound great next to a 100w Marshall or an old Silvertone!). Never thought I could afford a Dr. Z, but this guy was getting rid of the speakers/cab for a price I couldn't pass up. Hopefully, I'll have a real Dr. Z head in the mix someday, but for now, this'll have to do.
