Just wanted to see how the RXES does on cleaner blues tones Setup: Grosh Bent Top Custom (Strat) > Pedal board above > RXES > THD Hot Plate (-8db) > Mesa 1x12 with Weber Ceramic Blue Dog Amp Settings: Bass: Dimed Middle: Dimed Treble: Noon Volume: 10:30 o'clock Overdose: On High Input The clip: RXES/SlowSixEightJam.mp3The bass sounds pretty weird because it's my Strat digitally lowered an octave. Not the prettiest bass sound in town, but it worked anyway.

All for the Blues Bentop! Nice clip, great tone and playing! Question? where you using any overdrive pedal or boost pedals? Heard the delay partway thru the clip sounded nice and misty.

No, the delay was the only thing I turned on there at the end. Much as I like the Xotic pedals, I like the natural sound of the RXES more.

I may try it with a bit less gain than I usually use tonight - get a little closer to this kind of sound. I can always step on the RC booster or the BB Preamp for even more gain if that's what I need. The thing is, I'm rapidly approaching the point with the RXES where I'm asking if the Stingray is needed - the RXES cleans up so well rolling the guitar volume back... But I'm running both tonight.

Real nice, Steve. Loved your bluesy phrasing and the clean, biting tone. Didn't know you were using a Demeter comp...how do you like IT?

I step on it every once in a while, but I'm not a real compressor nut. What I like most about the Demeter is that it has exactly one knob that controls the compression. Now that's my idea of user friendly.

Double plus groovy tone as usual, Steve. The RxES came very close to being my first Z. Not quit the wattage overkill the SRZ is, but still out there.
The Rx Jr may be my next amp. It may be a while. I totally wiped out my special savings account today. A followup to that tease maybe tomorrow in the guitar porn thread. Need to take some pictures.

Very sweet Steve! A little cleaner is a little nicer in my opinion - I knew I wasn't the only one to use a guitar an octave down for bass-

Yeah, I need to find a decent and inexpensive bass, but my bass playing skill is almost laughable. I could still probably manage something as simple as the playing in this clip, but if I ever do anything serious I gotta hire a real player.

Steve, this might be my favorite of all your clips. Just incredible! The tone! The expression! The killer sounding delay!
What delay is that? It had me thinking I was watching Jimi play All Along the Watchtower!

It had me thinking I was watching Jimi play All Along the Watchtower! Justin hahaha.... Thanks! That is the Smart People Factory I-5 delay. It's that big white pedal on my board there. SPF is a local company that is making several great pedals. I like the I-5 because it sounds great, and takes up not so much space on my board. I wish it had some presets though - you set it, then have to twist the knobs for the next tune. But it's still a good enough pedal that I deal with that when I'm not willing to haul out my G-System instead.
