After some time with this amp I finally understand what you guys where talking about with this bass knob. I typically run it pretty low for most situations. Around 9:00. Works great for recording and live with my open back Z 2x12. At church and rehearsal we use Jackson iso-cabs and I have never really been happy with my tone through them. It wasn't until yesterday that I turned the bass knob all the way down that I was able to get a great tone from them. I used to always get a nasty low end resonance from them that is now gone! It even sounds amazing coming through the 18kW PA line arrays!

Depends on your EZG! The last few years of EZG's have the revised tone stack, and the Bass knobs range is way different. I've owned both. Both are stellar, but the older ones need a bit more tweaking.

Does anyone have the info on how to do the bass mod? I'd like to have my tech do it locally....or is the only option to send it in?

I emailed the doc but haven't heard back. They'll get back to you. It sometimes takes a few days. A good local tech can do the work. My EZG needed repair, and I had the tech do the bass mod while he had it. He said the Z folks were very cooperative. I suspect the guys in Cleveland could tell the tech knew his stuff.

Did you prefer the amp after the mod was done?

Did you prefer the amp after the mod was done? Yes. I generally had the bass nearly off prior to the mod. I was OK with that, but the updated version has a little more tone shaping available.
