Ok Dave...Ya got me...LOL On an impulse, since Bluzsteel carries the flag for the Eminence Tonker, I got one to throw in my new Z 1 12" "shorty" cabinet. He's right about it so far. It's big & fat, no doubt about it. These were done this morning right after I stuck the speaker in the cabinet. So it's not broken in and a little stiff, but I'll pound on it for a while and loosen her up... Did a few today with the new Route 66, MAZ 38NR, Z cabinet, and Tonker. Also did one with a '71 Deluxe Reverb through the Tonker just to get some comparison with the other two amps through the same cabinet. Tele clips were all plugged straight in to get an idea of how the speaker sounds. Peavey HP Signature used an Xotic BB on one clip for a ballsy lead tone, and an Xotic AC Booster set for mild dirt on the other. Here's a few to get my new clips going...It's the first 5 at the top of my Soundclick page. Plenty more to come this week with all the new toys. ;D www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=465770

Nice! I have to say, 3/4 of the way through your Maz 38 clip I started grinning like an idiot here - my wife's going "what?" and all I can do is play it again (got the headphones on). That Maz has a cool sound! Loved the rest too, but I really got off on that Maz clip!

I liked the Tele in the Maz and the 66! The Maz sounds thick. That tele almost sounded strat-like at some points in the clip.
I was wondering what you thought about the deluxe compared to the Z's. Sounds like you got to do a little side by side comparison.
Thanks for the awesome playing and clips!

The 66 & Tonker sounds pretty good!! I thought the Tonker would be harsh with the 66, but I like it. I might pick one up and try it. Great tones J

All great clips (no surprise there), but the Tele/ Maz Sr NR blew me away...especially the ending when you hit the bridge pup. That is some FINE, ear pleasing tone...and the chops are smoking!

Sounds like you got to do a little side by side comparison. Thanks for the awesome playing and clips! What do I think about the Deluxe? Well... It sounds like a Deluxe. Keep in mind that old Fenders were what I grew up around. Supers, Twins, Deluxes, Bassmans... And I've owned a bunch of 'em myself. That tone still has it's place, for sure. Especially a really good one. They sound great, but to be honest I'm just sick of that sound. It's boring and it has it's limitations.... and that's why the Z's do it for me. They'll do what the Fenders can do, but SOOO much more... J

The maz clip sounded great. Is there much difference between the reverb model? Pretty much the same. The NR is a touch darker and has slightly more growl. All of that , of course, is very subjective depending on your tubes, speakers, cabinets, etc. But in general, yeah the NR is a little more ballsy.

Jayson, that Maz 38 + Tonker + Tele clip was so yummy it actually made me hungry. I'm getting a Maz 38 this weekend, and I happen to have a Tonker sitting here, so *I can't wait!*
Very, very tasty chops. Nice stuff.
