Jeez, what can one say about the solo on Badge? This was one of my first Clapton solos and I have to say, working through it was a great learning experience. There is no way I have ever equaled the subtle nuances that EC put in there, but at least I got most of the notes right. Anyway I haven't really played this solo for years and just thought of it on the way home from work tonight, so here it is... First the details. Just like the last clip I did the drums in Acid Pro, then laid down a bass part with my Strat and lowered it digitally. I used my Rotosphere for the Leslie sounds and the BB Preamp for the solo. Rotary: Grosh Bent Top Custom > G-System > RC Booster > Rotosphere > Stingray > Airbrake > Celestion Alnico Blues Rotosphere and Reverb both on in addition to the RC Booster Bass Grosh Bent Top Custom > G-System > Stingray > Airbrake > Celestion Alnico Blues Dropped pitch one octave after recording. Solo Grosh Bent Top Custom > G-System > BB Preamp > Stingray > Airbrake > Celestion Alnico Blues G-System patch included compressor and reverb in addition to BB Preamp. This was the bridge pup on the BTC. Badge.mp3

That's a really tough one to "master", Steve and you played it wonderfully.
Dare I suggest that your tone on this recording is actually better than ECs was on the original.. (sacrilege!). Seriously, that's the tone EC *should* have had.... His tone back then was great, not as musical was what I hear in your tone.
Now, let's give EC your rig and have him try it one more time:)

I actually liked Clapton's tone back in the Cream days, but to me, ever since the end of the Derek and the Dominoes days his tone has really sucked. But it's consistent, I'll give him that. It has to be what he's going for - the guy can use anything he wants. But our Stingrays sound SO much better...
