I tried a variety of speakers and they all sound great in my bedroom but in a live application my sound just disappears. Back to the Vin 30 (actually a Hellatone 60). Anyone else go through this same thing and come to the same conclusion?

That's why I went back to the Red Fang 10" in my Ghia. Needed it on the gig!

When I'm at home I'm not that keen on the V30, but on a loud stage it really sounds great. I just wish I was on stage more.

Nothing AT ALL wrong with a V30. It's a whole other world playing live with a band than at home facing the amp from 3 feet away. In fact, almost all of what guitarists complain about a lot, i.e. "not enough bass", "annoying mid-hump", "not enough gain", are all things that are built IN to gear for the purpose of helping the guitar sit right on a stage with a bass player, drummer and vocalist.

Playing with a band is a completely different thing than at home and having a cab to use at home and one for the band is a great way to go. The Red Fang 10" is an amazing speaker. I've not used mine with the Vintage 30 yet but the Ghia sounds good thru all the speakers I've tried ..just better with some.

Yes, I realize I'm in the wrong forum, but the V-30 is my new fave speaker with the Therapy. The Celestion Gold is getting dusty....

V30 is a great speaker that works well for many amps once broken in.
