Absolutely killer amp! I had a Maz38 that I never bonded with that I was able to trade for this beauty. It's a 1999 2x12 combo. This amp has a cooling fan installed: Was this done by Z when the amp was made? Or did a previous owner (apparently it went through a few hands) install it? It's very noisy... and I definitely can't record with that thing going. Can I uninstall it? Or does it need the fan to keep cool? What exactly does the expand switch do? I read a few people saying that when you flip it up it gets a lot more Voxy. But some further insight would be great! The guy who sold it to me told me it was 50+ watts... Though all the info I can find says it's actually 45 watts. Is that true? Anyways... Any info on this amp would be welcome! Thanks

It probably is an original factory fan - I've got them in a Bluesman and a Super Z from around that time. It's probably ok to unplug the fan (they are a little noisy) as long as you're not going to be pushing it hard for a prolonged time. However, if you're gonna be cranking it for a couple hours - all bets are off. leave it plugged in.
