I've been messing with this song idea, using a very wet timed echo effect with the T-Rex Replica into the Maz 18 Jr. The arrangement and guitar parts still need to be worked out, but here's my initial idea, kinda cool: If the musicplayer doesn't automatically start to play, just click on the tack name or press the play button: sporadicbliss.net/gear.cfmRhythm part is Parker NiteFly with Neck pickup, T-Rex set to Unity Echo Mix and Repeats at about 2:30 Lead part is Gibson Les Paul with Neck Pickup, TS808 light gain, T-Rex light ambiant echo Just noodling the parts out, but I mainly wanted to show the cool wet echo effects the T-Rex produces. -Greg

Great playing Greg. I just got a Diamond Memory Lane. While it was on it's way I tried the Replica and loved it as well. I wish I could afford both. Very tasty soloing throughout. The maz18jr sounds great. Love how you build the intensity with the rhythm part at the end.

Thanks guys! Arun, how do you like that Memory lane, I'm still wanting to add a second delay to my board... Jason, I was able to check out your second set of clips on my work computer...Man, I need a blues band! You guys sound great, I really dig the soul you put out in that slow blues jam. Again, you can tell that you guys are just having a blast! As far as recording goes, I just use an SM57 close miked, into a Tascam FW1082 board into Logic or Garageband running on my Mac Dual G4. -Greg

Hi Greg, I think the Memory Lane is awesome. I thought having the T-Rex for a digital delay and the Memory Lane for Analog delay would totally answer all my delay needs. The Memory Lane conjures up some great, lush delay sounds. Of course it is not quite as pristine as the digital delays, but it has tons of warmth. The modulation on the pedal is extremely musical at even the most extreme settings. This pedal just sounds great. I don't really use the tap tempo function much. I like setting it up so I can switch in the modulation and use my foot or hand to run the delay knob. Great delay with tons of personality. Check out Diamond Pedals website for some clips of the memory lane. There is a used one on Ebay if you are interested. If you get one let me know what you think of it. cgi.ebay.com/Diamond-Memory-Lane-Analog-Delay-Pedal_W0QQitemZ7403029647QQcategoryZ41415QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemwww.diamondpedals.com/products/memorylane.html

Aruntang, That's exactly the combo I'm after, T-Rex for pristine and spacious sounding delays and a nice analog delay for that, well, "analog" warmth. I'll check into the Memory Lane and let you know, I'm also looking at the Maxon AD999 and AD900 as I only really care about having the tap tempo function for harmony type syncopated delay stuff. If you get a chance, I'd like to hear some sound samples of you playing through the ML, perhaps a sample of a clean setting and one of some ambient delay after an overdriven lead sound. Thanks. -Greg

Been lurking around the forum since x-mas and finally joined last night. Although a latecomer and a hack in terms of playing, I feel having a Maz Jr NR on order from Stu at Fat Sound qualifies me as a member. So here I am.
Aruntang,
Love your playing and sense of humour, man. Thought I'd chime in on the Memory Lane. I recently discovered (thru this forum) diamond pedals and was blown away by the ML sound clips on their web site. Although the clips were mostly done with a Vox 30 RI, I though the pedal would respond to a Maz Jr quite well. Luckily, I had a Boss GT6 gathering dust in the basement and the local shop gave me a great trade-in deal. (Thank God, because a GT6 can sometimes be difficult to offload around these parts). For the past month I've been playing the ML through the effects loop on my Peavey C30 and absolutely love it. I'm hearing sounds that remind me of so many different recordings. Can't wait to try it out on Maz. (Red, Tan Grill, Brown Piping...should be a perfect match with a ML.. . Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn't brown piping 110% Mojo? By the way, I though it was a little funny that we’re pretty much using the pedal the same way (No delay tap..Modulation on/off switch instead..adjust delay setting with foot). I seem to use the modulation more for distortion/overdrive tones. I find the clean tones are more open and transparent without it.
True story... Although I bought the pedal first and foremost because of its sound quality and (what I believe) is its suitability with Dr Z amps, there were other reasons. Diamond Pedals is located on a short, 1/4-mile road called Memory Lane in Sackville, a small town outside Halifax. During my youth, the closest liquor store was about 20 miles away at the end of Memory Lane (yes the same one) I have spent much of my misspent youth trying to get to Memory Lane or stuck in a traffic jam on Memory Lane, praying that the doors would still be open when I arrived. The liquor store has been relocated since and Diamond has found a place to call home just up from the old location. Oh yea, I could tell you some stories about Memory Lane. Great pedal though, without a doubt!!!
Greg;
Great playing... I've listen to your clip several times. Love it...soothing man.

Aruntang; Thanks for the karma brotha and for making a fellow Zanuck feel welcome. . Have you gigged the memory lane yet?? I don't play out much, but i used the ML at a small club this afternoon. Volume is a huge issue at this place (people go there to talk) so i left the ML on the whole time, without it, my sound sucked. I hate lugging gear and not be able to really use it. BTW, Karma back atchaaa... for your consistent injection of goooood Vi....bra...tions. Greg; I said it before and I'll say it again, I'm totally digging (that would be with a large shovel) sporadic bliss ;D. Had it cranked while loading the gear today. Kept replaying it, you could here it in and out the house. That T-Rex is working man. Bill

Excellent idea and playing. Its kind of hypnotic. It reminds me of Blind Faith's "Cant Find My Way Home", but in a psychadelic way. It would be great on some movie soundtrack.
The Memory Lane is next for me. After using a DL4 for years, I'd be lost without tap tempo. I play alot of country. I'd like to hear a Maxon AD999 too as it has like 900ms of delay. I'll probably end up with 3 delays. An Ibanez AD-9 for the short country slap, the Memory Lane for the midlength delay, and maybe the Maxon for longer stuff. The same setup as my DL4 but analog. Boy this makes perfect economic sense! ;D.
