Did another MAZ 38 track.... This time, with a HB guitar and played some slide on it. There's a bit of an awkward moment after the second solo pass when I'm trying to put the slide on while tracking....LOL This is a really fun "Rhomba Blues" track I got from one of the sites I listed in the other thread (can't remember which one.) I've got a buddy's Schecter to mess around with. Not sure of the model. Some type of import with modern Strat-type body and two humbuckers. Actually plays and sounds really nice, even though I'm sure I'd change the pickups if I got one! ;D Schecter- Keeley Comp- Keeley TS9- MAZ 38. Weber Silver Bell was the mic'ed speaker.... www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=465770JC

Sweet, Thanks Jayson. I think your clip on Teds site sold me on a Blue Dawg, I want to try it with the Ghia and Z/28, Sr too when she arrives. Gonna go Ceramic first but I can see having an Alnico as well.
Thx again, Curt

Thanks, fellas....
As far as settings, they varied slightly depending on the part I was playing...
For the clean stuff-
Volume- 11:00, Treble-12:00, Mids-1:00, Bass-11:00, Master- 12:00, Cut- 9:00, 'verb- 9:00 The solo part on the jazzy thing had the 'verb and cut up to about 10:00 each, just for some extra space & color.
The dirty tracks on the Rhomba were all the same EQ settings, but reverb was off, cut was at 9:00, Master at 11:00 and Vol at 1:00.
The Weber mini-MASS was set at 12:00, which Ted describes as basically 1/2 power.

DAYUM Jayson I dig that mucho! man if you ever come thru cowtown be sure & let us "townies" no fo-sho.. Well, actually... In the line of work I'm in, Dallas is probably the city I've been to the most. Seems like working with country artists makes you end up in Tejas & California a bunch. So yes, next time I'm there, I need to get some of the Z brothers to come. Would be cool if BW, Bluzsteel, you, and the rest of the Cowtown bunch were able to come. I was at Gilleys with Bobby Pinson around October, and I'm sure I'll be there or Billy Bob's some time this year. JC

No... I ended up only doing a few weeks with them. I love Tracy's stuff, but it wasn't a great fit. Trying to stay in town with the young 'uns as much as possible these days. Artists that are touring heavily can take a toll on your body & mind. '04 with Gretchen about KILLED me! LOL That's why it's really comfortable to go out and do fill-in/sub work with artists, but still keep my in-town stuff going on. But, like I said, I'm sure I'll be back to "the land where EVERYTHING'S bigger" soon....LOL JC
