Ok, I'm *not* a jazzer at all.... But I got this track from TGP ("Slow Beckish",) and it's a fun one to play around with. I added two tracks to the backing, a rhythm and a solo. Just felt like a nice clean, chorus guitar helped fill out the track. Here's the gear: Dunlavey Custom Strat w/Fralins- Keeley Compressor, Boss DD-3 - MAZ 38 2 12" combo. The Rhythm track was position 4, with Fulltone Choralflange added. The mic'ed speaker is the Weber Silver Bell. The solo pass is neck position, and everything else is the same, minus the Choralflange. The mic'ed speaker is the Weber Blue Dog. Thought this would be a good "showoff" of how good the MAZ 38 cleans are, as we all know how good they sound when overdriven. ;D JC www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=465770

Jayson, That is, in a word, awesome. Great tones and playing! I posted a while back after I heard your MAZ 38 clips that you had sold an amp for the Dr. It should be in my hands in a few weeks! I hope you got your commission check in the mail. PDW

Great playing JC. I have a question, how do you like the weber bluedog/silverbell combo with the MAZ38 in comparison to the original speakers? Why did you go with that particular combination? Good Karma for the sweet tone and playing.

Great playing JC. I have a question, how do you like the weber bluedog/silverbell combo with the MAZ38 in comparison to the original speakers? Why did you go with that particular combination? Good Karma for the sweet tone and playing. My MAZ38 came from the factory with the Webers, so I can't give an honest comparison based on first-hand experience. There's a young guy here in town that has two MAZ 38's, a 1 12 and a 2 12. The single 12 combo he's got has a Vintage 30. His 2 12 has the stock V30/H30. Both of his amps sound great. I think, just from listening to his 212 combo, the Celestions make the amp a bit more aggressive & modern. Nice bite, but still warm. I think the Celestions might have a touch more headroom & punch than the Webers. The Weber Blue/Silver in mine, even though they are ceramics, are smooth and a touch compressed, especially when the amp is pushed. Just a little more "vintage & vibey." I don't think you can go wrong with either setup. And of course, Dave Millsap (Bluzsteel) gets great tone and raves about the Eminence Tonker & Swamp Thing combo. All different shades of *great,* just got to zero in on which setup best nails your own personal "sound in your head." J
