...and bought a Mini Z for a great price. Already changed the preamp tube with a 1960's Amperex 7025 i had lying around and it sounds awesome.

well done brother...welcome! Just crank her up and ride the guitar volume for chime-y clean to tearing a hole in sky Mini Zs punch way above their weight class.

This amp is not the bottom, its just the lowest cost. My son has one and it sounds amazing! Great amp, good first choice Todd

The Mini's small size results in many people assuming it's gonna be quiet! Big, big mistake! A beast of an amp! Congrats on your first (but probably not last) Z amp!

Congrats! I agree, it's definitely not the bottom at all. It's just junior to the seniors, LOL. I definitely want to add one to my collection one day.

Aren't they cool? I just got one off the local CL and it's red too. What an amazing amplifier. I can't believe how HUGE it sounds with the volume cranked and the attenuator at full throttle back. It shouldn't sound that good but it does. Man, I wish I would have had this amp back when I started playing guitar in the late 60's. I could have actually practiced. It inspires me at low volume, something no amp has ever done.

I must concur: definitely not "the bottom." My first Z was a Mini Z as well. Sold it to get a Monza w/ppimv. LOVED that Mini Z as well. Dr. Z's RULE

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support. Just to set the record straight by "bottom" I meant financial bottom and yes I'm already making thoughts and scenarios on my next Z amp, but i'm telling you it's really giving me a hard time to decide which...
