Below is a link to the 1st track my band has recorded using our Z's. The band is Prey For Green (local to Orlando, FL) & we both used 6545 heads into 4x12's loaded w/Greenbacks (One red Z & one black). All of the rhythm tracks were the 45 side & the solo's & slide (except talk box) were the 65 side. The only other amp used was a Vox AC30 (used for the initial scratch track but left in for that part as it worked) on the intro to the short end jam. Needles to say, we are stoked with the Z's! home.earthlink.net/~mdlash/data/01%20That%20was%20Yesterday.mp3

Thanks for all the kind words! I appreciate everyone's comments & was excited to see the Doctor himself gave it a listen! We both got our Z's 6 months ago & I think we have really found our sound as a result. Prey For Green has been together just under a year & we are finally ready to put ourselves out there. We were really happy with the sounds we were able to achieve (especially with the the Z's) as this was recorded & mixed on a iBook w/protools in our rehearsal spot!

I actually played all the slide/solo's with the exception of the talk box, but I believe the talk box he used was a Rocktron Banshee directly to disk.

Good stuff indeed. Love those raw sounds you are getting. Nice production and balance between everything.

That track had the "Goods" flowin' in spades. Keep the stuff coming.

What type of guitars did you use on this track? Single pups or buckers?

To answer your question Prowler,
I used a 91 PRS Custom 24 w/Duncan 59's on all my parts (rhythm, solo's & slide). The other guitarist used a Gibson Les Paul Jr. w/stock p90's for all his rhythm parts & a Gibson ES335 w/Stock PAF's for the talkbox solo at the end.
As far as effects, we both ran straight for our rhythm tracks. I used a TC boost & Boss DD-2 delay on the slide parts & 1st solo, and a Chandler Tube Driver for the solo at the end. The talk box is a banshee & is just straight into an MBox.
