The song "Drift" (Jaye Christopher Hanson Trio) from my soon to be released album "Hypothermia" has been put on a compilation album if anyone is interested in a sneak preview. This song is the Grosh Set Neck straight into the Route 66 and Z-best, all dials around 3 oclock if I remember correctly. The crazy outro section also utilizes my Ulbrick Octave pedal (tychobrahe replica) pushed with a fatboost. Check out the drumming...Konrad is a monster! (hey Kon, where's the one?) Be warned, it's a pretty intense track! www.amo.org.au/release.asp?id=7523The streaming quality is pretty poor also but you get the idea. Update... better quality link www.broadjam.com/player/player.asp?play_file=3906_86307&sessionID=B09E502FE584464DB2E98186D4058BB4&sessionINDEX=16263

Oh we get the idea alright..... wicked cool tune. Fantastic guitar tone, you are going to increase sales of the R66 for sure (probably starting with me). And that Kon is a monster...cool Copeland-esqe pop on that song. Put a copy of Hypothermia on my Christmas List ~boj

When I first took the track to the band I said to Konrad, "think Copeland"! Live, Konrad just goes nuts at the end of this song. It's become his feature spot and its amazing to witness. I just sit back in awe most nights. I'm sure your Rxes does just fine! Pretty bad if I steal all your Cd's for Xmas and then send you mine! ;D Unfortunately the Cd is "Stuck in A and R"! Basically Konrad is on tour with an awesome funk band he is also in till March, so we've had to delay the release till then. Doc, thanks alot. I used a Fulltone Fatboost to bump up the gain going into the Octavia. My guitar was bought from Bruce at Wildwood Guitars, another Z dealer. It's a bit daunting having "the Maker" hear your stuff but I can promise you there are some unmistakeable RT 66 tones on the album...and some mistakeable ones. Most people think I used a different amp for the cleans. I didn't even use a different setting. Just rolled the volume back on the guitar. Most people don't believe it's the same amp but we just set up and I went through the tracks as if I was playing live so it's all the same setting, just variations via the guitar. As Mike Fuller said, "50 shades from semi dirt to dirt to clean" Thanks for an inspiring amp.

Yeah Kon nailed it (I'm a drummer also, well, hobbyist really and mostly for anger management purposes...) You gotta be pumped tas? Getting a nod from the Doc. It's like The Godfather of Tone accepting you into the family..."Don't ever go against da family Tas...."
I was just kidding about the xmas list, I support my fellow musicians. When it's released, I'm a paying customer bro.

Jaye - awesome track man! That's definitely in the style of music wheelhouse that I dig. I thought parts of it were very Incubus-ish, which in my book is very good thing. Karma your way man - that tune was KILLER, and your tones were perfectly in the context of what you were doin'!

Karma your way man - that tune was KILLER, and your tones were perfectly in the context of what you were doin'! Thanks Chad, the album is quite varied, I get alot of complaints that it's hard to define my "genre". There's some Brit-Pop type stuff along with some straight rock/pop tunes and a few more "rockier" tunes, a tune in 11/8 that only has two chords and another song that only has 4 words! I can see the marketing/labels point of view that they need to know what market to push, but I think they underestimate the music lover sometimes. Shall we have a party for our promotion into the senior ranks? I notice you've sneaked ahead of me. I'll have a drink for you here! Cheers.

Jaye- I agree with you that the music industry tends to unnecessarily pigeon-hole bands, but I thought that was more a component of the American need to have everything fit into nice neat categories in order to accept it. Personally, when I buy an album, I look for the bands that put something out that tends to defy category and genre. I like songs and albums to take me in directions that I didn't anticipate... just like watching a movie with lots of clever twists, but in music it's surreal, and tends to grab your attention even if you've already heard the song many times before (not so with movies - the twist is dead there once you've already seen it). Where can I listen to more of your band's work? As for sneaking ahead of you -- GUILTY! I'll share a drink with you from across the oceans... Since it's AM here, it'll be coffee for now, but I'll have a Fosters this evening. What kind of beers are actually popular in Australlia? I'm guessing it's probably NOT Fosters.

Ok, for you guys who were denied, try this link, it's better streaming quality too. www.broadjam.com/player/player.asp?play_file=3906_86307&sessionID=B09E502FE584464DB2E98186D4058BB4&sessionINDEX=21814Chad, my website www.jayechristopherhanson.com is a hundred years out of date and mostly has info on my first album.(Pre Z) (2001) (Marshall 800, Gibson Tennessean) We are trying to get a new site done but it's all being held up at the moment as we are in discussions with a large company and the new album might be remixed at an "expensive" studio. So everything is on "hold" I think you can hear more stuff as it is at the moment from here www.broadjam.com/artists/artistindex.asp?artistID=3906if you click on the more songs link you'll get most of them. Now...Beer... Well us Tasmanians are pretty parochial to our own breweries, Cascade, is the oldest brewery in Australia, and Boags is from the Nth of the state/island and is a good beer also. Most states are parochial to their own brewery's so it kind of depends where you live to what's popular. I still like Fosters though. One popular beer here is Victoria Bitter but I think its aweful. Just clever campaining!!! Kinda like when Coors light brought out a silver can and everyone bought it just cause it looked "pretty", then everyone else brought out a silver can and that was the end of that fad. By the way, I think I'm done for in the race to 300!
