When I turn my amp on from cold....power on, stand-by off to let it warm up, V2 lights up WHITE for a quarter of a sec. I look down into the vent on top every power up and the white shines bright under the tube sheald.
Anyone else notice this? Mine has done it from day one. Doesn't seem to be a problem, but just might burn that pre-amp tube up quicker??
The amp sounds wonderful, just wonder if it is my amp, or a common, normal trait?

Can't say I have, I did notice the goo on the pre-amp tubes that help with rattle/springs but I do not spend much time in the back of it.

I've had preamp tubes that did that Mark, and never had problems with them. As long as it's a preamp tube it should be ok.... Power amp tube lighting up = HEAP BIG PROBLEM. I'll check my T later and see if it does that too.

Had the same experience as Maddog with some preamp tubes a while ago and they were USA Sylvanias. Never had a problem with them flaming out or anything. It seemed to be just the way they fired themselves up.

... I look down into the vent on top... Quite the little "voyeur" aren't we now Mark? Opps, sorry, seriously - does not happen with mine. I gotta tell ya, I'm a little, as my granddaughters would say: "jelly" that mine doesn't do that. I'm with Todd; you got some special mojo with your "T" there T. Cherish it, own it, use it and rock it!

Anyone looked for the white light V2?? Only does it when powered up cold.
No need to do anything but look at it through the top vent. Easy to see....or is it just mine?
I need to try another tube but have not yet. The dang amp sounds so great, I can't do anything but want to play it when it's on!!!

I have an Amperex Bugle Boy in my Swart that does that when first given juice. As long it sounds good, right?
