Found EZG Head in Surf Green on ebay. This is my first Dr Z amp, and my first tube amp in general! What a transformation- Fender frontman 25r to EZG 50. Can;t wait, til it arrives. Still looking for a 1x12 cab. Man I thought I made a jump when I went from my Line 6 Spider to my Peavey Classic 30 to my Divided by 13 SJT 10/20....But you're going from a 25 watt solid state to 50 man sized watts of glory !!! You're gonna need a new pair a sunglasses to go with it because it's so cool If it the same one I was watching then all I can say is, " What a beauty she is " Congrats and enjoy it to the max !

Welcome to the Forum! A lot of good people and good information on this site! Take the time to watch the videos and read the posts on the EZG 50. I think you are in for a shock when compared to your Fender amp BTW - The EZG 50 stands for Evan Zaite (G - Doc's daughter's married name) - Doc's grandson. While it was in development it was actually referred to as the "Evan".

I think you are in for a shock when compared to your Fender amp BTW - The EZG 50 stands for Evan Zaite (not sure of the last name) - Doc's grandson. While it was in development it was actually referred to as the "Evan". I was wondering what it stood for. All I know that I wasn't a big fan of the Blackface sound until I plugged my strat into it. Wowwwweeeee! This amp rocks!

Congrats on the amp! It's destined to be a classic. Take plenty of time to dial in many settings. Something that this amp does better than some of the old Fender's is offer a bigger EQ sweep. For instance, the EZG sounds great with the mids scooped (classic Fender) and cranked. Wide range of tones in the EZG!
