Patience.. Maybe I'll throw my iPad in front and do a quick and dirty (pun intended)... Lol...no need. I got out of my meeting early and snuck out to the dealer to have a listen. The amp sounds glorious with single coils...absolutely beautiful. The sales guy I deal with (who sells me all my Z's says that it's his favorite yet (with the single coils). With single coils I think this amp rivals the Z-Wreck (sounds different but has that same feel). Sadly, I wasn't fond of the amp with humbuckers, though....which is what I ordered it for. So, I left it there and told the dealer I'd decide overnight whether I would take it or not. Right now its a 'no'....but I wanted to think about it Keith Funny, first impression I had with it was "it will not replace any of my other Z's". That being said it is nice to have in the heard because it is so different from what I have. It fills a space that is more of a (for lack of better term) modern type thing compared to my other Z's. Granted I do need to spend more time with it.

Not that easy for me. Every Z I buy comes in special order. This amp was one I ordered and I'm really bothered by not buying it (even though my dealer assures me it's no big deal). Keith Ah I see...Most of my stuff, I bought from demos, being that I had no other choice. Luckily with Z's, they all tend to sound glorious. Same here...but my local dealer doesn't stock them so every one that comes in is because I order it. This would be the first time I wouldn't have bought an amp I ordered in if I pass on it. Don't get me wrong...this amp is the equivalent of my Z-Wreck with single coils (I could live with either). This amp is a serious piece of kit....more than one head turned today when we fired it up at the dealer.

I was looking for something a little more modern sounding too

I had a re-listen of the demo done by MarkT with his Tele but with a Gold in the cabinet,
I must say my ears favored the Gold-Tele paired over the Scumback-Tele paired in this demo.

The Therapy has some serious mojo going on with single coils!

^^^^ No wonder you didn't like it with humbuckers. Look at those volumes! Something tells me after you sleep on it, you'll be sleeping with it tomorrow night.

But you sure seem too obsessed with this amp not to bring it home. Also, it's funny how people hear different things in these amps. I agree, the Z Wreck seems to be made for single coils and sounds better with them, in my opinion. But the Therapy sounds great, and easy to get great tones with every guitar I've thrown at it. I also agree that the humbucker portions of that clip above did not sound as good as the Tele, but don't let that sway you.

We spent about 20 minutes with this amp today with a LP Traditional and, in the end, I did not like it with the humbuckers. If I do pick this amp up tomorrow it would be because of how good it sounded with the single coils. However, at this point, I still prefer the Z-Wreck so its unlikely that it's coming home.

The color is the other decision I'll be wrestling with. Red looks mighty sexy though, but then again so does the blackout.

I'm a red guy myself. Except for the Wreck, which is blue - and I'm perfectly happy with that.
