Yep, I said it.
Over the past 6 years I've played (and / or owned) all but 2-3 Z's. I'm still taken aback by the EZG.
I've used it with the Z-Best, Z 4x10, Z 1x12, 2x12.....it doesn't matter. They all sound great!
I know everyone has their favorite. I just wanted to take a minute to say 'thanks' again to Doc for spending two years on this one! Your creation was well worth the effort!!!
To those who haven't tried one...you really should!

The EZG is the only Z I ever bought during an initial release feeding frenzy. It didn't work out due to the (now addressed) bass issue but I gave it a second try with a used one last year and it's everything I was hoping for the first time around. Wonderful amp but kind of in a different camp from most of the other Z models. I suspect that's why it doesn't get the widespread love. The Z-28 is still my favorite Z so I naturally tend to think that it is the most underappreciated.
Edited to add that the real underappreciated award probably goes to the JAZ, but as I've never played one, I didn't feel like I was qualified to make that call. From everything I've read and heard, it was\is a wonderful amp that didn't deserve to be discontinued. I'd love to play one some day.

EZG and z28 are still in my arsenal although the Therapy gets the most love. EZg just has that tue vintage sound..well, to me it does

Still my all-time favorite Z. Along with the Maz 18. And the Z-28. And the Therapy.

I don't want my Jr NR to go anywhere, but if I had to choose...I'd go with the EZG. (I hope I don't ever have to choose!)

I don't want my Jr NR to go anywhere, but if I had to choose...I'd go with the EZG. (I hope I don't ever have to choose!) Another MAZ 18 NR is on my wish list. I let mine go a while back, but will get another one before too long. The EZG-50 is special though. I think of it as an amp that can do all gigs. It sounds excellent at volumes comparable to the MAZ 18 NR (and will sound just as if not fuller), and has a few extra gears for those bigger gigs.

Exactly! And I fell in love with the big clean sound of the EZG.

This thread doesn't make the EZG sound very under appreciated.
