I know these 2 are totally different amps, but I guess I'm wondering have versatile the Therapy is, and how well it plays with pedals....? I would be using the amp in a Classic Rock cover band, that has a very wide variety of tunes. Right now, I have amps that are a little more on the American side (65Amps Tupelo, Carr Skylark).
Which amp would I be happiest with in your opinion?
PS.... I've owned a couple of Maz Jr's before, so I know what I'm getting there.....

probably the Therapy will be fatter (depending of course on the speakers). but test them both...this is a must agreed, but for me , if you want a hot amp and just push it harder with a pedal or two, then the Therapy is the one for you. It has a lot more gain than a Maz18 NR. The Maz will have that EL84 chime in spades, but I had pedals on all the time when I used mine in a rock setting. Nothing wrong with that if it makes you happy (MarkN does this all the time, and gets some great tones indeed!). For me, I've moved more to the "pedals for seasoning only" camp - I want my basic rock tones straight from the amp, hot and heavy! The Therapy gives me that in spades! As an example, I would struggle to do our (rock/indie) set list with just a guitar, cable and a Maz18NR; I would not struggle with the Therapy. (I play a Les Paul Special with Lollar P90s most of the time, and a Tele with Texas Specials some of the time - I think it's important to know what pups guitars are being used in posts like this)

I also use pedals and use an amp with low level break up. How's the Master V on the Therapy...that might be an advantage to discuss.....volume control..... ~Joe
