I haven't heard one in person yet, but from what I am hearing on all these demos, my takeaway is that if you wish your Rt. 66 had a master volume and a three band eq, then the Therapy is in that zone. I realize the tube compliment is different, but I am hearing all of these demos and reading the reports and the Therapy sounds to me like a nice, slightly more versatile variation on the Rt. 66 sound.
Would you agree with that, Frankie?
Best, Eddie

It's kinda sorta like comparing the Stangray and Z-Wreck. See my other post "Therapy vs. Trainwreck".

Phil,
I will check out your post. I think I get you, but just to clarify, are you saying that the 66 is to the Stangray as the Therapy is to the Z-wreck? Or the other way around?

Phil, I will check out your post. I think I get you, but just to clarify, are you saying that the 66 is to the Stangray as the Therapy is to the Z-wreck? Or the other way around? Eddie No. What I was trying to say is that in my opinion the Z-Wreck kind of "takes the Stangray to the next level". The Stang offers a great 3D sound dripping with harmonics and clarity with a Voxy EL84 sound but it has a limited gain range. The Z-Wreck has a similar sound at low volumes but gets way gainier as you crank it up. The 66 is similar to the Ray in respects of touch and ultimate gain levels...but the Therapy with its cathode biased 6L6's does not sound or feel to me like the 66's ultra linear KT66's. I think the Antidote is an upgrowth of the 66 if anything is. The Route 66 is pretty unique.

Phil,
Are you saying that garbonzo beans are to meatloaf as Sonny and Cher are to bad wallpaper?
Well, that's what I've been sayin! :-) jk
OK, I think I get you. There may be some slight overlap between the Stangray and the Z-Wreck. And somewhere in there may be some overlap with the Therapy. Perhaps some overlap between the 66 and the Antidote, but not much between the 66 and the Therapy?
