Has anyone tried one of these tubes for their reverb? I was told that this tube was a HUGE upgrade for my reverb on my Maz 38 over what came stock in it. MULLARD CV4024 I might be interested in trying this if anyone has tried it and found it to be an upgrade.

Yup. I'm using one of these right now for reverb in my SRZ-65RH. Bought them from KR Audio in Ontario. But I got them from them via Ebay, so the price was way lower. Here's their regular retail ad: www.kraudioproducts.com/Mullard-Brimar/ProductDetail.aspx?CatID=65&ProductID=152Impossible to say whether it will be an improvement w/o knowing what you got in there. The Mullard is a really nice reverb tube. Cheers, Blair

I currently have a 12AT7 and it has china stamped on it. So, I am thinking the Mullard would be an upgrade.

How much of a difference does the tube BRAND make in a reverb circuit? I can understand different gain values making big differences, but switching out, say, a Sovtek for a New Tung-Sol, or an NOS, what kind of tonal changes are we talking about here?
I've swapped all kinds of pre and power tubes, and that can sometimes make quite a large difference, a PI tube a little less so, but still worthwhile. But a reverb tube? Details, please!

It depends on what you're using now. Arguably, the Mullard CV4024 is one of the best sounding 12AT7s and, on average, will last 10 times longer than any new production tube. For $22 a pop it's not a "show stopper" to try one out. Most users report sweeter sounding reverb but that's all subjective.
