Hello all. It's been a while since I've posted on the Z forum. Been going through a rough divorce and have been focusing on that, but it's finally starting to ease up.
Anyhow, I just got a new MAZ Jr. NR yesterday and noticed that V1 & V2 have JJs. About 6 or 7 months ago (I think), Doc was using Svetlanas, and he and others were singing their praises. What's up with that now? Why the switch back to JJs?

Sorry to hear about the divorce I didn't get the impression that he was changing to svetlanas only that he had tried some in the MAZ and like the way they sounded, but I could be wrong. At any rate I do have a svetlana in V1 and I think it tames the Maz JR a little bit in the high end which I like. For $10 it might be worth a try.

On the Svets .... very inconsistent. When you get a good one it's nice but it can be hard to find good ones on a regular basis. On the divorce .... been there ... done that (a few times). Just keep busy and let time pass. If you have a boat jump on it and run away for at least 1-3 years. Quit your job before you run off. You can always find work in boat yards around the globe that will give you more money than you could possibly need to live if the boat is paid for.

Is she yours Myles? Sweet ride. When we go on our annual vacation to Cape Cod we always take out a schooner. (I'm not the one doing the actual sailing however.) I always want one, as it's the most peaceful I've felt in perhaps my entire life, out on the water, no motor, just the wind & the sea. Awesome feeling. Life just melts away.
If I ever get a divorce, I've always said I would hike the Appalachian Trail, but I would MUCH prefer to learn to sail & take off! Hang in there guitarman1. All things pass with time.

I have had quite a few boats. I love Bill Trip stuff .... the Columbia 50 (that one is a 1966) and I also had a design of his built in Holland called a Le Comte Medalist. My old Medalist is now called Coyote and was sold to **** Van Dyke the actor. It was a documented vessel and the documentation still shows it's owner in Arizona so he may still have it I suppose. But ... I also love Santa Cruz Ultralights ... my Moore 24 Spitifire may go down as my favorite boat of all time actually. I can run away on anything bigger than 20 feet and am also quite at ease singlehanding boats of 85+ feet if rigged properly.

I guess were a bit off topic here but what the heck ;D I've always wanted to try out a sailing boat too but have never had the chance ( yet ) . My family an I were out in BC in the summer of 2000 and visited a friend on Vancouver Island that has a 24' but unfortunately the weather was not the best that day ( high winds and surf ) and he decided not to take us out . Probably best , I can't swim and having a bad ride for the first time would not been the best thing to experience

Thanks for the props about my divorce guys and thank you Myles for suggesting the boat getaway. Unfortunately, my wife got the boat in the settlement...arrggh! Still have the house, the guitars and my Z amps, though! ;D Go get another boat .... it is less pricy than a new house or even an apartment. Better place to live too.
