Well, I have decided to buy a balanced NOS 5751 and try it out in the PI. Trying to smooth things out on my Maz38 just a little. I will try it in V1 also. Just for the sake of hearing it for myself. Any thoughts on where I might like this tube best? Should be here by early next week.

I had a 5751 as the PI tube in my Maz Jr. I tried other positions as well, but liked the PI best.

Well, I just tried my NOS Matched Balanced Jan-Philips tube in the PI, V5 on my Maz38. I am surprised. The change is very subtle but it is noticeable. It warms up my tone a little, and gets rid of the notchy top end the amp had. Like I said the change is not HUGE but I can hear a difference from the 12AX7LPS Sovtek that came stock in my Maz38.

I LOVE 5751s. One came stock as the PI in my Mazerati and I've been using them in V1 for a while, too. Smooths things out nicely for me - I don't like tons of high end. I'm trying to gradually stock up on NOS ones - I think Myles has said that the new Sovteks aren't even close to NOS specs.

Hey All, Based on a suggestion from sama I replaced the V1 with a 5751. I also purchased a NOS GZ34 from nitehawk55. My MAZ Jr/verb 1-12 sounds amazing with better head room and tone. Thanks guys! Rick
