The GT EL34M has been a top seller ever since it's introduction at NAMM in 2006. It was also shown at NAMM 2007 where it was available to play in Aspen Pittman's 100 watt Plexi with it's original cab. That amp had a quad of these and was a hit at the show. GT just completed a new run of these and they are about as good as it gets by any standard. The traces are smoother than any current EL34 tube and if you want to bring me a set of something else to see what constant curve traces look like when they are not as smooth just contact me. As a side note, the Mullard name is now owned by Sovtek and they also produce a tube called a Mullard but this is not a reproduction in design of any original Mullard. The GT version is a direct copy of the dual getter xf2 while the Sovtek Mullard is not the famed xf2 dual getter version. The Sovtek Mullard is a nice tube and in the end it will boil down to user taste and preference but I did note that the performance and curve traces of the GT EL34M is right on the money when compared to our NOS originals.

So how do these compare to the 6CA7 that GT made a few years back? I've got a duet in my Marshall Silver Anniversary and like them a lot.
