Just got done watching John Fogerty's set at the New Orleans Jazz and heritage Festival on Axs TV. He had a Red Z laid back beside some other amps. It looked like a Z Wreck combo but couldn't be sure. His guitars sounded great as usual but I noticed a bad 60hz hum between songs. Some of the singing was a little pitchy but overall a great set. I have seen his concerts live and on TV and he is consistently one of the best performers out there.......crowds love him.

Just saw that. I'm pretty sure it was at least a Z cab. It looked like they had all of the cabs tilted almost on their backs and the amps were nowhere to be seen. That man has some of the thinnest sounding LP Customs I've ever heard but he can play up a storm. His voice is even mostly hanging in there after all these years.

That show is on my DVR waiting to be viewed.
I recall Dr Z said he made a red Z Wreck set for John Fogerty.

Somebody please explain the cabinets lying nearly on their backs, it seems John Fogerty is about the only one doing it. I have seen amps slightly tilted back, turned backwards, sitting behind plexiglass, and I understand isolation cabinets, but am curious to know about this setup. It does sound good out front !

I think I've seen videos of Springsteen with a similar arrangement for the cabs.

Jonny Lang was doing that for awhile...two Vibro Kings suspended in face-up position, so that he could crank them without the stage volume problems. I think that's why it's usually done that way.

Junior Brown will do the same with fender twins and a sound blanket. Fogerty has been doin this for years...

Springsteen's been using two 4x12 cabs pointed at the ceiling for years.
