Hello, Monzaites. Is it safe to run the Monza with 1 power tube removed? I've heard of this trick in order to reduce output volume and want to know if it's safe for the Monza.

doing so you will cut half of the output waveform. not a good idea...airbrake or MV-mod. I tested a Monza Head with MV last Monday...SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

Not a good idea. That works with fixed bias amps where you pull one tube from each side of the signal like a Twin. Not good on cathode bias.

Thanks for the replies so far. This is what I was hoping to receive and what I expected would be the case.

You are wise to check first, because you should not do this!. Brake Lite, MV mod or less efficient speaker are all good options.
Added: Although some amps have four power tubes, that isn't a "free pass" to pull two tubes and get reduced output either.
