Hey guys, newbie to the board. My KT-45 played fine this morning. This afternoon I power it on and the power light blinks and then goes off. I've pulled the fuse out of but I don't know how to tell if it's blown.
Does anyone know what type of fuse runs in this amp?
I appreciate any help - thanks in advance!
regards, Jeff

Well, the fuse doesn't look scorched so that may not be the problem. Upon closer look , I see that the insulated rubber wrapping on the power cord at the base of the amp is a little frayed. Maybe that's it...?

Jeff,
Does the amp have a tube rectifier or solid state rectifier?
How old is the amp?
Can you borrow an ohm meter to check the fuse?
Did this happen more than once? If so, then it is not the fuse.
Are you sure the output tubes are good and properly biased?
You do not have a location on your member info but if you are near Los Angeles I would be happy to look at the amp for free.
LASTLY .... TO BE DONE FIRST ......
Make sure the AC cord is plugged into the back of the chassis firmly! I have seen .... MANY TIMES .... where this was loose.
