Posted this in the Ghia area, but probably belongs here:
I was playing my Ghia (not red) last night and noticed when playing an open "A" chord there was a "crackling" sound during the chord's decay. I did not have the same problem with my Rx.
Volume was about 3 o'clock, guitar was a homebuilt tele with Fralins.
Also, with a strat, the g string (vintage stagger poles) did the same thing, obviously pushing the front end more than the other strings. Boy, did that sound nasty. I have used this same guitar with the volume all the way up, with no problems.
Time for new tubes? Preamp? Power? Recto? All of 'em?
Thanks! -Phil

This sounds like V1 or the output set.
