I've been using a 2-12 Avatar Vintage cab loaded with 2 -12h30s with my new MV Remedy head , really isnt as bad as I thought it would be since the green backs & creambacks get a lot of love here. (Our band plays modern country) I'm thinking of getting a Z open back 2-12....few questions ...what 2 speakers would you choose? I'm leaning toward 2 -65 creambacks. I love the tone Brad Paisley gets in the you tube video where he is demoing a z wreck, spanky yet chimey. Help a brother out .

If you are going to use the cabinet with nothing other than the Remedy, I would get two greenbacks. Much cheaper than a pair of Creamback M. And you can find used greenbacks on ebay all the time. (finding used creambacks....hard to do..they're too new) Greenbacks are 25 watts. Using two will give you a 50 watt cabinet. That's more than the Remedy. Spending money on the creambacks is spending money on the extra power handling that you'll never use. To my ears, the G12H30 is a terrible speaker with the Remedy. And it's even worse if your cabinet is closed backed. By far the best (to me) are something in the greenback family. A V30 will get you modern rock/metal tones. You could also consider greenback clones such as WGS Green Beret. I have one, it's wonderful...and they're cheap. You can buy a new one for what you'd pay for a used greenback. Warehouse Guitar Speakers (WGS), have a very good reputation. wgs4.com/content/gbAnother good selection would be the Weber greenback clone...the 1225. Scumbacks are a bit too expensive for me. They're another greenback clone, but they're more than twice the price of WGS.

For "modern country" you might like the stock setup of the Vintage 30 & G12h-30. It will give you a little more headroom and a tighter low end than greenbacks with the open back cab. I just bought a 2x12 (closed back) and put in these two speakers. Now I see what all the fuss is. They really are amazing together.
