Here are a couple of 6L6 tubes that are good but not expensive from Mike at KCA NOS tubes. The Rubys' kcanostubes.com/content/estore_details.asp?category=3&product=298 Svetlanas kcanostubes.com/content/estore_details.asp?category=3&product=109 The best new ones from Groove Tubes.(probably your best bet) Make sure they have a high rating. kcanostubes.com/content/estore_details.asp?category=3&product=102 The GT6L6GE with a high rating of 8-10 will give you the most headroom and clarity. A rating of 4-7 is usually considered the average giving you the best of both worlds, enough clean headroom and also a breakup that is not too early. Here is another link: www.groovetubes.com/product.cfm?Product_ID=1713 Mike at KCA might be able to help you out with some NOS tubes. He is a fountain of knowledge and is worth talking to. The RCA Black plates are considered to be the grail for Fenders. Also putting 5751s in place of 12AX7s in V1, V2, V4 can give you more headroom and a rounder, sweeter high end. It is a SRV trick I believe. I have them in my 66 deluxe as well as a pair of RCA blackplate 6V6s and they rock. Made my whole amp have more headroom and have a sweeter top end. You might want to change your Phase Inverter tube as well. I heard it is good to change these out when you change out power tubes. Anyway, I hope this helps.
The NOS tubes Harold(hdahs143) recommended is the best one for the job so far. You might want to contact Myles on this forum, he is like a Jedi master when it comes to tubes and amplifiers. He also works for Groove Tubes and can help you find the right pair for you if you go the GT route.
Uh...Ivy...Hand...trace.........uhhhhhhhhh what was I gonna say.......
Those 3 words together make it somewhat uh, err HARD to concentrate.....
If you want to get over the lack of concentration, all you have to do is come to one of our photoshoots. There is one this Fri, Sat, Sun, in North Hollywood. Some of the guys from GT such as Rick Benson have even been called on to be a part of the shoot.... same with John March ( www.zenbluesmusic.com ) who even was called upon for some "couple shots" with my wife as John looked a lot better than I did!
In any case ... if you spend three full days shooting without stopping much and just hanging out you soon find that these girls are terrific gals and are nothing to loose concentration over .... they are nice, real, fun, people. Frank Murdock (photographer from Implied Images - www.onemodelplace.com/member.cfm?P_ID=85282 is the man behind the camera and a wizzard with those things with lenses!

easyed: Guitar Z, I encountered to ultimate garbage raiding combo once. We'd been having problems with the garbage cans being raided by raccoons for weeks. Late in the evening I heard rattling at the cans. I went out and found that he'd allied with a skunk. "OK"

GuitarZ: EasyEd - Someone at work topped us both. The inside of their car had been somewhat ransacked. They were blaming their son. They checked the video. It was a Bear! I'll stick with the racoons, skunks, foxes, and squirrels.

bigboki: In this age and time when everybody are struggling and especially S&Ms I am amazed to see that kind of ignorance. I am really sorry for your experience dear Dr Z but it is for the better. You don't want to do business with those kind of people anyway.

GuitarZ: Didn't want to restart the plumbing thread, so I figured I'd ShoutBox this. How the heck does cleaning the aerator on a faucet cause a leak to start under the faucet? Huh? Arggggh!!!!
Jul 10, 2020 7:40:17 GMT -7
The Bad Poodle Experience: well, Mike, it shouldn't have been the cause of a leak. double-check your work.

GuitarZ: I updated in the Plumbing thread that the Moen website says that a faulty aerator can cause a handle/base leak. Eiyy! I really don't understand how plumbing works. I was ready to double check all connections. But, the leaking stopped with cleaned Aerator.

GuitarZ: After finally training myself after 4 days to not bother trying to turn on the guest bathroom light because of the power outage, I just found myself bracing for the sound of the generator as I opened the garage door and it's now quiet. Power Back!

GuitarZ: Oh Man! My drummer built his own studio back about 25 years ago. I still remember lugging that drywall down to the basement. He did drywall, insulation, drywall. So, there was a lot of drywall!
