Hi I'm saving for a maz sr however I do have a 32 watt el84 amp...I won't mention the brand name...It came with GT el84r's and from some reccomendations from this forum I replaced them as well as the preamp tubes with JJ's...and wow what a difference...first the amp is much quieter. second the tone is amazing. Wonderful jazzy chime balanced mids and gradual distortion. These tubes never lose balance and clarity. Excellent for clean jazz .to country to classic rock...really made my average amp into a tone machine....It is amazing the difference different tubes and combinations make....Dr Z please authorize a dealer here in Indianapolis...
Thanks
Joe

If you think the JJs have clarity, you'd be knocked out by the NOS Tesla (NOT JJ!) EL84s .

Thanks Joe Joe, Taking EL84R's out of any amp and replacing them with just about anything will make the amp sound like a felt grillcloth over the speaker was removed.
