I bought my Maz with these preamp tubes. I switched a few around to remedy noise in the reverb and cut and wound up with: V1 Sovtek 7025 12AX7 V2 JJ 12AX7 V3 Sylvania 12AT7 V4 Westing House 12 AX7 (used to be phase inverter) V5 5751EH GOLD (This actually a new tube I put in)
Problem was.... V3 was really microphonic V4 also microphonic
Made a few more switches on yesterday. These are currently in the amp. V1 Sovtek 7025 12AX7 V2 JJ 12AX7 V3 Mullard 12AT7 (New tube) V4 Sovtek 12AX7WA (Note: this tube seems noisy here in reverb, but better than a whole bunch of brand new Electro Harmonix tubes, which were very noisy) V5 5751 Electro Harmonix GOLD
Looks like I need to find a quality, low noise tube for V4.....

Hi Arthur, I picked up a quartet of really good Sylvania ribbed Long Plates from the 60's (special selected for low noise) on Ebay that are working out great in my SRZ & Reverend Goblin in the PI spot. They are VERY quiet & only set me back about $50 bucks. Also alot of the good US made low noise long plates from this era were marked for many of the organ makers of the time (Baldwin, Hammond, etc...). These don't get bid on as much because they aren't labeled RCA etc... when they actually are. Just do a little research and you'll be all set if you go this route..

Get those Sovtek 12AX7WA's out of there and it will sound like you took the blanket off the amp.

Just an addition to the prev message. The hum is only evident when the rev is turned up. Cheers.
Steve.
