picked up a pair of SED EL34's for my SRZ-65 and I have to say I really love these tubes. I don't know what the previous owner was thinking but I had to get those crappy MESA tubes out of there. I rebiased the amp w/ the new Svets at 32mA (the bozo before had the bias set at about 46mA - I'm surprised I hadn't blown the tubes..) and it sounds sweet. These are very musical & smooth tubes and from the research I've done they handle the high plate voltage of the SRZ-65 well. EH bought the rights to the Svetlana name in the US & Canada but SED is still making the same Svet tubes out of St Petersburg. I'm not sure of the quality of the EH branded Svet's but these SED's are really nice. I'm willing to bet they would sound nice in the 6545 & Kt45 as well for those of you who want to stick w/ a 25 watt tube.

The real Svets from St Petersburg are some of the finest EL-34 tubes available.

Johnnyl is right on about the description of these tubes. Myles and Doug at Doug's tubes both recommended them for my Shiva and they are AWESOME! SED'S are the way to go for sure, these and JJ's were about the only tubes that could handle the plate voltage of the Shiva and I love them.

I like the SED's also. The construction is nice, and they have a lot less mechanical noise. Also the locator pin is way more durable than most when you switch tubes a lot.
