I've been reading this forum for several weeks and joined right after I ordered a new Maz 38. I've enjoyed reading members' posts and am interested in learning more about power tubes. Some of you seem to be quite the experts. Is there a go-to website, book, or other resource that explains power tubes and the industry-standard amps that they get their sound from? I mean, I understand the basic differences from among Dr. Z's offerings sonically, but not electronically. I don't want to modify an amp or to change out the tubes to get a better sound-- I'm just looking to know in a nutshell what amps have what tubes and what some differences are.

There is an area on the website at www.guitaramplifierblueprinting.com/Primers.html where there is a two part, about 200+ page download. This is set up to be read on a PC screen so it is in landscape format. There are also links all throughout the documents that will take you places that have even more info. In any case .... feel free to .... copy, cut, paste, edit, take credit for, redistribute, sell, use as toilet paper if you print it out, toss it in your fireplace, or do whatever you wish with it. Happy reading. Myles
