How did your Remedy do - how was the volume with your band? First off I cannot get over the molten tone coming out of this amp! It haunts me, beckons me to play it. Its calling me right now! Practice was great- the guys dug the amp and its hypnotic chime, but they were a bit confused. We play a variety of covers along with our own stuff we call Appalachian voodoo- we do some Floyd, Tom Waits, Stones, Allman Bros etc. We do a lot of un-apologetic dual guitar leads and textures - its or thing. I get along really well with the other guitarist- music-psychics during improv when we are on. My part is bringing the post-rock and psychedelic flavor that somehow meshes with Randy's blistering r&b. So I showed up last night with my remedy, cab and guitars... no pedals. Not even a tuner! Freaked them out a bit. It was liberating- not complete (meaning I do have some responsibilities for modulation and delay sounds in our material). It did put the essentials front and center for me-mainly learning to use my GV as a gain knob and pickup selector as rhythm/lead switch - this is new to me as my previous amp had tons of headroom and a giant sound, dirt from pedals kind of limited vol/gain variation, but was instant. Problem was my notes did not sing and sometimes thin. Hence the remedy (literally ). So now Im in GV training. By the end of practice I dialed in a decent eq setting and HV/LV relationship that I could roll back both GVs and GTs to get from a to b, shades between. just need to learn to do it smoother and not panic and step back to turn up the amp!
