Anyboyd else experience this with their Rt. 66?
Mines a 2000 and I just get it back with new tubes and everything, but it's still humming. =/
My tech said that the ef86 tested in the yellow on his tester, but I got it not 3 weeks ago, which is discouraging.
any ideas? I don't necessarily have a lot of money to throw down on it, so i'd like to hear everyone's thoughts (if you have any).
The hum seems to increase as the volume us turned up... so I'm baffeled.

It could be the ef86. You can get a good one from kcanos or doug's tubes. What PI you using. I like 12ax7lps. Seems a new tube would still be under warranty. Give your guy a call.

My guess is a tube. It really is a crapshoot with them nowadays. I replaced 12ax7s in two amps last night because they were making noise like you described. The higher the volume the higher the noise. Here's a link to Doc's trouble shooting page try this and see if you can resolve the problem. drzamps.com/info/faq-troubleshoot/
