I just sold my Maz jr, as I needed something more powerful... Blame the loud-arse drummer;) Anyway, I have line on the Antidote, and I'm having a hard time fighting it... I've read all the posts, played one, and afraid I'm hooked. I also love the idea of going back to a head/cab setup. My local has a Z convertible 112 available, I'm guessing with a vintage 30. I'll try it out, but have never been fond of that speaker... Anyone using it? It seems that the cream back is popular, what else are you guys using?

The Antidote is a "Wee Smasher" of an amp! It is glorious with a Z Best 2x12 as there is something extra inside that cab I just can't describe but it makes my ears smile... All depends what sound you are looking for.

It's done. In a few days, I'll have an Antidote, and I decided for now, to go with a Z 1x12 with a cream back being installed... I can't imagine being unhappy with that tone... I wonder how often I'll get to open it up;) Thanks, all... great threads filled with advice here. I'll report back on my likely-obvious findings;) -wow, my 200th post.... I'm taking that as a good omen

Good choice, I use mine with a 1x12 and creamback and love it. Check my recent videos on you tube 'samldr1984'. It's done. I have a1x12 with creamback and a 2x12 with greenbacks. My take is that they are in the same ballpark but the creamback is a little brighter and the greenbacks are a little darker. My greenbacks are broken in and my creamback hasn't been fully broken in

Matt... it almost happened;) I do notice the creamback to be a little bright sounding... hopefully this changes as it works in, but it's not too hard to dial it out... this amp is loud! It has a very round and muscular tone... reminds me a little of my old Route 66, but with more 'dimension' if that makes sense. I'm pretty happy with it so far:)

The greenback added bass to the mix. If I played in a three piece it would be awesome. I also agree on the greater dimensionality of the 'dote to the Route. I have had both and though the Route is good when I listen to our recorded jams I note a boxyness to it. It sounds good, but the 'dote is better IMO. I, too, am happy, but the quest may never end. Max 8 anyone?
