Don't forget some wicked long hair, too! ;D Oh sure, pick on the bald guy why don't you! Seriously though, I wouldn't take my SRZ-65 to most gigs just to keep it in good shape, but a dual-channel Z like the Galaxie might be perfect for that.

This is sort of off topic, but in regards to Emerald City, they had at least three Z-best cabs (two new and 1 used) for a couple of months up until a couple of weeks ago. I've been tracking this as I was planning to buy the one that matched my RX ES, but all three of the cabs must have sold within days of each other, as I generally don't go more than a week without checking to see if they still have the one I want. I think it was just bad timing/bad luck that the week that benttop went, they'd all already sold. Also bad luck that I got so lackadaisical about selling off surplus gear that the cab I really wanted got sold out from under me. By the way, I don't work there or anything, I just don't want the Doc to get the idea that they aren't supporting his product properly. When I've talked to them about Z-gear, they seem pretty enthusiastic.

Yeah, they are a good lot. How could they know they'd sell all their Z cabs all at once?

The photo that Steve took was the prototype. Here's a photo that I took at Doc's shop of the production combo model.

Looking good!
I'm envious of the folks that got to play this at the Z Fest.
Are there any clips out there?

Looks nice! I'm with Zimmer, where are the clips? I sent the guys at Fat Sound an email, but haven't heard back yet. Luke

To throw in my 2 cents, the Mazerati GT is a monster. I remember when I heard it being played with 'buckers I thought of that toasty, harmonic early EVH kinds of tones. Very in-your-face, will cut really well. I'd like to check one out, but my SRZ has all the gain I need (the flavor is much different, however).
The Galaxie will be a staple of the Z range I believe, even after Evan comes out. It has that Fender vibe but it can rock pretty hard too. The triode/penthode switch has a subtle effect that changes the feel of the amp, not the sound. It did really well in the 2x10 combo.

I'm curious Mike - what speakers are you using in the shop for this amp? We all know it makes a huge difference, so it would be cool to know how you all are testing it. In the shop I have used a 2x10 cab VERY NICE, a Z-Best loaded with a G-65 and a G-12 H , and a 1X12 with a G-65. Z I'd be tempted to use a ceramic Weber 1230-55 and a 1265 instead of the expensive heritage celestions. The Webers probably sound at least as good as the heritages for much less. I'm just guessing though.

Hey there...Mazerati GT???...what's this about? Did I miss something here, or is there some sort of souped up mazerati coming out? I ask because our other guitar player (he plays a HW Vox ac30) got to play through a mazerati at a gig the other day and he instantly fell in love and had to buy one only to find out that they aren't sold anymore. (he's going to get a ghia now) but this Mazerati GT? what's the scoop? Oh yeah...must buy galaxie...(and every other Z amp!!)

Capt'n, there's a thread in the Z forum about it where you can hear some testimonials and see a couple video clips of people playing through it.

I've sent an e-mail to the closest DR Z dealer from me and they will receive the Galaxie pretty soon. I'm planning a little road Tripp over there to try this little beast !! I can't wait to hear a 6L6'S based amp done by Z. I'm not usually after channel switching amp but Z's are different and this one sure looks great !!
