Anybody running their EZG with a 1x15" cab? Curious as all-get out about the 1x15 possibilities out there in terms of cabs/builders and speaker options.

J Design makes a great cab. I had one of their 2x12's for several years.

Never having heard any of those and being a fan of Weber speakers, I'd also consider their 15" that is supposed to replicate the Jensen used in the blackface Pro reverbs. Don't remember the model but it is probably something like 15F150.

linkI'm talking Fender's upgrade the standard Jensen type "standard" speaker. More highs, mids & lows. More headroom. If you are "lusting after the classic "El Mocambo" tone", ,these type speakers are what SRV used. ....Although that 4-10 ain't gonna sound to shabby!!!! I'm looking as forward to tomorrow as you are!! New amp night eve~

I'll try it out with the 4x10 and go from there. I'm thinking the 1x15 might be just a tad more portable, though. JDesigns likes the Eminence Legend 1518--so there's that.

I occasionally used to run my vintage Fenders into an Altec Lansing 418. Real similar to a JBL D130. They are hard to find nowadays though.

^^^ Yeah...Altec & Gauss are/were also the big super premium speaker upgrades of the day in the 70's. Can't go wrong with any of them.
