I know this has been asked a few times already but now that the Remedy has the MV mod I thought I might throw this back out there. Does anyone care to compare the Remedy with the Monza? I'm looking at both. I'm thinking the Remedy may fit my needs a little better because I can get a little more clean headroom judging from what I've read. However, the little Monza beast sure is tempting me! I play lots of cover tunes. A few older country songs that require clean, but mostly modern country-rock, red dirt, classic rock, and some originals.
I mostly use my amps as clean platforms and use pedals for dirt but I'm looking to move to amp OD if possible. From clean to mean, and everything in between!

As a covers band player and ex Monza owner, I would say the Remedy with MV would suit you much better and is much more versatile IMHO Monza is a great little beast, but part of my issue was I don't really like EL84 OD tones. Too fizzy for my tastes. I like the very muscular tones of the Remedy much better, and its cleans are gorgeous too

That confirms a lot of what I've been thinking.

The Monza can be a ton of fun, but I agree with Pete that the Remedy seems better suited to your needs. 40 watts, keep the two Vs down and it'll be plenty clean. Then dial in the actual sound level with MV.

I have yet to own a Remedy but as a fellow former Monza owner I am confident to agree with Pete: REMEDY
The Monza is a juicy, rich, and characterful amp that likes to be the center of attention; pedals just hog the limelight LOL
I did find some nice hot cleans in the Monza rolling back the guitar volume of course, but I wasn't thrilled with the various pedals I threw in front. I also had a Z-28 at the time so to be fair the benchmark for pedal/amp love was very high!

^^^ Good point on the Z28 pedal thing - the Z28 is my number two amp, and runs a close second to the Remedy
