Nice amp! Plenty of headroom I'm sure. Actually, the Delta is really darn useful and actually starts to get a real crunchy rock tone at lower levels than the KT-45. The KT-45 has more clean headroom to me than the Delta 88. The Delta 88 is a rockers amp in many cases because it sounds pretty hard core even at low levels. Now mind you, it is a very strong amp and will just get louder and louder and louder BUT even at low levels it sounds full and beefy.

Hey Lefty, Nice Rig
How do you like your Trutone cabinet? How is your's set up, I've been debating on getting one, and I was wondering what someone else thought of them?

The Trutone cab is great! I have the open back 1x12 loaded with a Weber C12CA. I really like his pine cabs..they are very light and the build quality is top shelf.

I wonder how it sounds with an airbrake in front of it? I'm gassing...

It works fine with an Air Brake but the Delta sounds nice and crunch at lower levels that say a KT-45 so you may find you can just turn it down and still sound huge.

There is a Delta 88 trick that I want to talk to the Doc about before posting anything here but the amp was used in a live show over the weekend with a slight change (adjustment, no mods or anything) that folks loved.

I talked to Z this afternoon about what I did but want to get his feedback before I post what I think makes this amp quite a bit different and cleaner and stronger at the same time. May sort of give the user the option of almost having two different amps. On a side note, if Mike from KCA sees this ... my NOS Dario Miniwatt EF86 went horribly physically microphonic out of nowhere. Had nothing to do with anything I did as it was that way before I started by fooling around. I guess this is a good reason to keep a spare EF86 handy on gigs and test it in the amp first to make sure it is okay as some may not be right from the get go. I have these in a lot of amps and this was the first one that has had any problem. The GEC EF86s .... never any problem even bouncing the amp all over the place, and they sound amazing but are pricy. But I guess in the long run maybe they are actually pretty cheap if they last for years and years as they tend to do.

For a while Maybe I can hire yours Miles if I play in Cali? If you play in CA or if ANYBODY in this forum is in Los Angeles for a gig ... live, studio, whatever .... they can use anything I own for nothing for the gig. If you are in L.A. and in this forum and have your Z amp with you I will go through the amp for nothing and check it out, adjust bias if it's an A/B Z amp and probably have you walk off with a handful of tubes if we feel the amp sounded better with fresh or different ones.

Miles, you are a gem. We are trying to organise a big tour for next year but it's very early stages. We are looking at West coast to Japan to Nth Europe but it is dependent on a lot of things.

I did try it as a pedal steel amp with Brad Paisley's steel player and did not like it there for his playing style and tone. It could be a pretty cool and compact bass head.

Wow myles, thats a heck of a deal haha. I was out at Westlake Audio (Studio A) last June. I flew out there with some guitars, but didnt have an amp. We tried the engineers old Fender Tone Master and cab, but it sounded like trash(that is until we put new tubes in that sucker.) Even with new tubes though, it still wasnt what i needed. I might have to check out your insane amp room next time I'm out there.
