Hey guys
i have a JR with a blue in it and want to use the blue in my 2x12 open back cab with a gold.
I have a v30 and a 70th anniversary G12H. Which would go best to replace the blue for country and classic rock???

I happen to like my open back cab with a V30/G12H combo, but if I had to choose just one I'd go with the G12H. I tried the V30 alone, and that mid-range 'honk' thing that sounds great with another speaker just doesn't do it for me with the RxJr's voicing. I've heard that a single Greenback sounds pretty cool with this amp too.

G12H30. You should also try a G12M greenback at some point, which is what the Doc used as the stock speaker. It has a hint of alnico-type chime, and somewhat tames the lowend and highend of the amp. It makes the EQ more usuable IMO. Not saying it's the only speaker for the RX Jr but it's definitely worth trying. So far it's been one of my favorites.

Greenback is my favorite with the Rx Jr, even over the Celestion Blue that I sometimes play it through. Haven't tried the v30 or G12H.
