I find I can run the Remedy at 40 watts now with the MV mod, and I'm curious to see if anyone has tried a closed back cab with a Creanback.

40W all the way with the MV - but still using my 1x12 open back, although I close it when playing outside. I can hear myself much better that way, and of course it sounds just as glorious!

I use a closed 2x12 cab with Creambacks with the Remedy. It sounds fantastic. I haven't tried open back yet, however.

Open back you get more of a surround sound type of tone closed is more punchy and direct I prefer open back live. Where I play I am real close to my amp so in order for me to hear myself better I like it open back.

I agree, but have always struggled to hear myself playing in a marquee when stage depth is usually awful, and the amp is buried under overhanging think canvas. This happened a few weeks back, and usually the sound guy wants us to put our amps up on boxes so we can hear ourselves, which doesn't do the general tone much good. However, this time I left mine on the floor, put the lid of our mixing desk behind the amp about 15" away, and angled slightly up like a reflector for the open backed cab. Made a HUGE difference! Suddenly I could hear myself clearly, and my tone was sucked away by being off the floor! I might do this everywhere I play

If it was an outside gig I would probably go closed back.

Funny how most people (including so-called sound techs) often insist on amps being elevated off the floor & real close to your ears. "So we can hear it well"...
I understand their rational but it is false. I don't expect they understand the fundamentals of sound reinforcement. Where: speaker on floor = +3db gain and bass boost; speaker against wall another +3db; speaker in corner (2 walls & a floor) = another +3db.
Always other issues about frequency and gain which also influence the guitars ability to cut through the mix. Still I most always insist I like my amp on the floor &, "yes, way back there where I first put it before you moved it thank you".
oh... I'm an open back kind of guy. 95%. Only for the BIG outdoor stages will I use a closed but really not even that much. Probably just my playing style and what I want. One nice feature about the 1-12 Z convertible cab is you have "options".
