I may need to ask Myles? If anyone can help {PLEASE DO} I have a 6V6 35 Watt Fixed Bias amp, Do I still need to Take the Total Bias setting/reading and divide that by 2 . Being it has 4 tubes? Sorry for being elementary but its been a while since I have had this kind of set up. Thanks for any help Given. Jamie

On a four tube amp when you are reading the idle current you are actually reading two tubes. If the idle current for your tube needs to be 25ma. then you want to see 50ma. on your meter(shunt current method). I assume that since you are using 6V6's to get 35 watts you are using four tubes in a push-pull circuit.
I've never used a four tube BiasRite setup or any of the other similar products. They might be different.

Hi!!! I wanted if I change power 6p14p tubes on my zwreck is what the bias adjustment is required? The Z Wreck is cathode biased so you do not have to set anything when you change power tubes. Just use a matched quad and you are good to go with just swapping them.

Jamie: On a 4 power tube amp, it depends on how you are measuring it. If you are doing it by hand right on the tube ie: measuring voltage drop and resistance or for a 1 ohm shunt/bias rite it should be for 1 tube. Other ways can measure 2 (or even 4) tubes depending on the circuit and measuring point/method. If your not sure you could post the schematic or say what amp it is.......or go by your gut, if its giving you single or double tube numbers etc.
Now that your probably totally confused, don't be, learning how these things are measured and work isn't rocket science. Just measure and think about it, if you have questions ask here or there are a few amp tech sites that are really good. Let me know if you want a link or something. Just don't electrocute yourself, and follow the basic rules, you can look those up too if your not sure.
