Oh, I knew that, Dave But this is a case where Mike bought Dave's and Dave bought Mike's. There is something thats so right about all of that Yet...... a HELLA lot wrong, that the Galaxie doesn't get the respect that it SHOULD here. WHO(m) the fk doesn't LOVE the sound of a low powered Tweed Super? IMO....... Desert Island rig w/a 2x12 open back, 100 watt AlNiCo setup. Footswitch included. Add a little reverb/delay.......... GOLDEN.

The timing of this thread is interesting. I made the 2-hour drive to Ottawa with my wife so that she could do some shopping and I took a little detour to the Z dealer while I was in town to see if there was something there to supplement my Ghia. They had a decent selection and I had the chance to try out a Route 66 and a Maz GT which I've been dying to try for a few years now. The Route was great - I could easily see it becoming a regular gigging partner for me. Then I tried the GT. WOW, that's one loud amp! If I was playing really large venues all the time or I already had a great attenuator then perhaps I'd consider it, but the Route 66 was far more practical for my uses. While I was looking around I happened to find a NOS pre-MV Galaxie and thought I'd better try that out while I was there. Wow is indeed the right term again. It was quite nice and I would also be really happy with this amp as well. Unfortunately by that point I was running out of time and instead of leaving the shop with another Z I instead left with a double gig bag (which is something I've been wanting for a while to help reduce load-in/out time). As I was walking out of the store, still happy with my purchase, I couldn't help but feel a huge pang of regret for not buying an amp, but I think I'll have to make another trip without my wife in the not-too-distant future.

Hey Baconator - you can have Dr. Z put a Master volume on either the Maz GT or the Channel 2 of the Galaxie (I have both with the MV mods). Makes them both extremely usable!

Lauzon Music or Long&Mcquade? Just askin' cheers always, Joel Lol...I'm pretty sure it's Lauzon ! I almost bought the Gal they have a month or so ago (blonde with brown cloth). However, it would be an unseen purchase and when I found out thatthe amp is a 5 year old demo floor model unit, I didn't pull the trigger since I couldn't be sure of the shape it was in (the amp would still be $1,500 to $1,600 delivered to me). If the price was lower, I likely would have bought it. Keith
