I just threw some kts in my 6545. damn i tell you what, they were great in my srz le and even better in red #33. Had e34ls s aka 6ca7 and they were a little harsh in the mids/treble, the kts are just smooth smooth smooth with creamy gain and better harmonics. Great stuff.

What types of KTs did you put in. I assume you biased them, correct?

My only experience with KT77s was in my old Mini-Plex. LOVED them. I thought they were a smoother, rounder EL-34 but still had some nice chimey grind. They were Gold Lions.

I also have been running 77's in my SRZ -minus the 45 side LOL for about 2 years now, I wont go back to 34's unless I stumble across something cool like "mullards" or NOS matched set. I like the Smoother sound and more Mids the 77's give , I always wandered why the Doc doesn't offer this in the Newer Production SRZ's ? It sounds HUGE!!!!! I also use GOLD LIONS they seem to last longer sound the best to me.

Thanks! Warmoth build. Ash body, Duncan bg1400, Callaham bridge, finisih by rs guitarworks. It's got a 24 3/4 maple neck on it now. I waited until I was 30 something to try a tele. Loved it, but couldn't get used to the shape.

I've had them in my SRZ LE for a long time. As everyone else said they're rounder and smoother than the average EL34. Mine are JJs. The glass itself is really cool. I don't know if the current ones are still made to the same standards as the ones I got a few years ago but mine are really heavy.
