Hellllllooooo! Sort of new guy here.
I spend a bit of time on TGP and have been lurking around here for a while, posted a few things in the Buy/Sell section, but nothing really to post or add in the other sections until now.
I have a Red Remedy & matching 2x10 cab on the way to me.
I am very much in the Fender camp amp-wise with an early SFDR, Drip edge Twin, '66 Band-Master and a tweed Bassman repro....very excited to get something in the plexi type style (even tho you could argue that the Tweed Bassman has a Marshall flavor).
I'm about 99% sure I will play the amp for a short time and turn around and get the MV/EQBP mod. I don't know if the Sept deadline means that the mods will be more expensive or each mod will be separate or what. IMO it's a great deal as it stands and I think that the MV addition will make this a much more usable amp for all the different sized rooms I play.
Anyway I wanted to post, while excitement builds for my incoming amp.

Thx for the welcome everyone! I appreciate that. My new addition arrives tomorrow....I have a concert that night so I prob won't spend too much time with it the day it lands. That was a screamin' deal. Good job! To be honest I was all set to buy a '68 Vibrolux locally - but it sounded a little ice picky and I'd prob need to swap speakers, get a cap job to get it where I wanted it to be...plus it's more of the same (see OP for amps). I've always wanted to try a Plexi-type amp saw the ad get bumped a few times...I guess no one showed any interest (he prob should have posted it here, wpuld have sold very quickly). Very, very nice guy and was motivated to sell...I'll just say I didn't pay the advertised price.

Welcome to the forum! Great guys and lotsa good info here. I found the Rem to be a very user friendly amp.....set to tone knobbies to about noon or so, balance the volumes how they sound best to you and let er rip. Give us a report once you get some time with it.

Got the amp today....Holy b@lls it's loud!! The MV mod in in my very near future....and then it won't be an issue.
With both V's at noon I was able to get some great grit just plugging directly into the amp. But there are great dynamics to this amp. I'm a total noob when it comes to Plexi tones but I really dig this amp some great sounds out of this amp.
I took an iPad video but the bass is a little boomy...prob b/c the mic was def clipping with the amount of volume.
I'll clean up the video and maybe post it.

Yeah, I think we forgot to mention that these amps use Z WATTS, not the regular kind, and they are LOUD! Congrats on the new amp, and welcome to the forum! I am continually blown away by my Remedy, and the MV/EQBP mods are very well worth doing - it allows you to really play that amp at manageable volumes. Enjoy!

Great looking rig - and some Studio Slips covers too? Now that is a nice find! My EQ section is set a bit flatter than that generally, but those Vs are set about perfect!

No idea if they are tiki or SS. No bottoms but my great score was upped a bit when I found out that there were covers too.
I usually buy covers or flight cases, depending on the amp....so I was pretty happy that he had them.

Thx for all the kind words.
Pete - those settings were the ones set by the former owner.
I think I had the Vs at 1:00 & 11:00....again really loud at 40w.

Here's a video. Clearly more worried about playing with the vol knobies than the actual playing....but here is some messing around. iPad runs out of memory just I started to open it up full and let 'er fly....I had no idea about 5mins later. lol 50's style LsL Saticoy > Remedy > Z's 2x10.

Took the Rem out for it's first gig. It's a smaller place but was able to use it for a full 3.5 hr gig.
This amp is lots of fun and very inspiring to play - my band mates (a self critical bunch we are) had nothing but great things to say about the tone.
It's great when you have a good tone day, makes for a fun night of playing.

Sounds great. The Remedy with the MV is on my short list for #2 in my house..... or Ghia, or Antidote.... maybe Maz... ;-)

Edit posted gig repot 2x
Jaguarguy...if there is a MV and/or half power switch coming for the EZG-50, I think that's where I'd be on the next Dr. Z.

...if there is a MV and/or half power switch coming for the EZG-50, I think that's where I'd be on the next Dr. Z. I don't think an MV is needed on the EZG-50, honestly. Maybe put a couple clicks on the Air Brake attenuator, but that should be all that's ever necessary. I recently played Jaguarguy's EZG through a 2×10 cab at reasonably low volume levels and it still sounded Fullerton fantastic. (Sorry to take the "Remedy" thread into "EZG-50" territory!)

Fair enough. From my very little experience with Z watts and none with the EZG-50 that's my noob take on the specs on paper.

Mark is dead on - the EZG50 doesn't really need a MV or 1/2 power switch - for some reason not quite as loud as Doc's other amps.

mirroring my TGP post here is a little update, So I took the Rem to the studio yesterday. The engineer (has worked with some big names like OutKast, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Peter Frampton, Indigo Girls, Collective Soul, G-Love & SS, Ludacris, Nas, Zwan, Drake and on and on) and I loved the big tones with the 2x12 cab with Crex's. Big, huge and warm tones. Glad I was able to get some sounds recorded before I send the amp back to Dr Z for the mods. We were re-amping some original DI tracks. I think we might be blending some different mics and both amps on some parts.
