Have been using a Maz Jr nr for a few years now with a 2x12 vintage 30 cab and loving it. Sometime add another 2x12 vintage 30 cab when I need it. Wanting a grab and go combo so I've been back and forth with a Maz combo or Monza but the Monza seems to be real interesting but... 10" or 12". I hear and see lots of great responses about the 10" Red Fang. Any one have any experiences with one, the other or both?

What do you plan on using the amp for? Small venues, medium, or large venues makes a difference. So does type of music you play - Monza is a loud amp with the 1x10 RF but is tamed by the master volume. I play my Monza more than any other Z amps because I can keep it fairly quiet with MV down low.
Where are you located? Can you try out the amps at a store?

My fav has been the 1x10 with fang.
It came as a 1x12 with G12h30 and that was good. But i really preferred my Z28 in that cab. Put the monza in the 1x10. Been happy ever since. Killer grab and go.

Id get a head and a 1x10 cab with a red fang. Then you'll have the option of using it as a combo with the 1x10 or head/cab with the 2x12 you already have.

Playing Classic Rock, Zep Stones Bowie type material, bluesier things at times too. Have some original work coming up in a couple different things one is more heavy rock material the other more blues/funk flavored. The venues can go from small Bar room to larger club size and never had a problem covering with the Maz Jr even outdoors with 4x12. When I bought the Maz Jr it made sense to go for the head, I have 2 - 4x12 Marshall cabs, 2 - 2x12 cabs and love that amp. Was thinking of a Maz Jr combo but the Monza really caught my interest. Looking for the grab and go to cover smaller situations. Loud isnt as important as tone. Appreciate the feedback.

Mine is a 1 x 12 combo with a G12M Greenback....Definitely the epitome of Classic Rock tone...Big and bold, and just nails ZZ TOP......

I have the 1x10 and gig with it, but I also love the Monza through a G12H30. I love that speaker. The Monza also sounds great using the Red Fang and the G12H30 together!

A lil' bit outside of what the op asked .... but I like the Monza with a 210 Z cab (open back) ..... Strat or Les Paul ... straight-in (occasionally with a Draconis) As far as a grab'n'go .... I'd go with the 112 with well-broekn-in V30 .... no particular reason, other than it has been somethin' that works for me in the past - rock'n'roll, r'n'b, blues 'n other sounds as well cheers always, Joel

I've been gigging with this since the end of last july when I got it. I cant believe how big this amp sounds. Small venues, large venues, even outside. I stayed with the G-12 H celestion it came with. Still have the Maz 18 but really haven't used it since the Monza came but always bring it for my back up though. People cant believe its only 20 watts and I'm only running the single 12" speaker. Usually run the Volume at noon, drive at 3, tone around noon somtime less and Master anywhere between 10 and noon. Loving this amp, best investment I've made yet. Really works for me.

That's great. I like everything (except master volume) between 1 & 2 o'clock. I'm strictly bedroom player, so the master is pretty low I have the 10" speaker

I have the red fang in a 1 x 10 combo. I'm partial to the 12 inch speakers but the red fang is great. I wouldn't say it is my favorite speaker but it is always exceptional. I have played all my amps threw it and it is a good match for any of them. I think it would sound great with anything. I'm thinking of building a 1 x 12 cab that matches my combo and using a greenback or creamback paired with the red fang.

I've found recently that the Ramrod is a HUGE sounding speaker in the 1x10 combo. It's the first 10" speaker I've ever tried that I could honestly say keeps up with a 12". It's just ever-so-slightly boxy-sounding compared to a 12", but if you didn't A/B them directly you wouldn't know it. It's about as ridiculously loud as the Red Fang 10, too, but those spiky upper-mid-highs are tamed--overall less chime and more meat.
If you wanna pump high-gain & distortion loudly through a 10" speaker and still have some wicked solid lows, this is the speaker. Most impressive in a little monster like the Monza. I highly recommend for that style.
