Still haven't played an Antidote yet. My fellow Remedy brethren, I ask you, do I need one? I think I know the answer to that question. Think of all the great demos I could make if I have an Antidote in my basement!!!

I don't have a Remedy ''anymore'' but I do have an A-Dote. A lot like the Rem, but more bass thump, beautiful top end, chime and creamy all in one amp. I give the new Rem a 10 and the Antidote an 11. IMHO. Don't shoot I'm just the guitar player! LOL

I think the Antidote has more of everything except Maybe overdrive. Just an opinion.

The jury is still out for me. So far I've tried it with: Z-Best (2xG12M) 1X12 G12H 1X12 V30 4x10 Doc's 4x10 G10 Greenbacks
So far I like the Z-Best with a pair of Greenbacks best. Still to try: 2x12 (G12H/V30) 1x12 G12-65 2x12 G12-65 1x12 Tone Tubby Red Alnico
Going to try those and hopefully I can get Todd over with his new Remedy to compare as I traded my old Remedy to Mike in a moment of weakness.....

If I was to purchase another Z it would be the Antidote. I really need to stop reading all the High Praise on it! Its really not helping matters much thats for sure. Rock we all need a Antidote!

My vote is for the Antidote. I've had a Remedy and loved it for the most part. The Antidote sounds richer, sweeter, thicker and yes, LOUDER!!...but in a way that is more pleasing to my ears. Not knocking the Remedy. It's a great Rock-n-Roll machine too.

Let us know your take ? Had a quick chance to try the 2XG12-65 which was OK and the (2) 1X12's one with G12H the other with a V30 which sounded best of all combo's. Next move is to put them in my Z-Best which is currently filled with Greenbacks. Todd and I have yet to hook up to check out the Alnico Tone Tubby and do the Remedy comparison; but hopefully soon.....

For the record, I know I would LOVE the Antidote, but 2 things I always do before a purchase like this (assuming I can afford it ): 1. will it fit in with my playing lifestyle / needs? (I'm not in a position to collect amps, sadly) 2. if it's a brand new launch, wait until the honeymoon period is over (usually 6 months for Z amps) and then revisit. So, in about 4 months time, and if I get to play in a bigger, mostly outdoors, band, I'll give the 'Dote another visit. Just me, and I know YMMV, but it keeps me from making expensive mistakes......... most of the time!

There is sonic overlap but, as usual, Dr Z has injected unique mojo into each.

Oh yea, I change the cab color that's all. or it was an even trade. LOL I may try this one in the future... NO! I just got a new valence for it?!@#$ Run man, not the Deer in the headlights look, I'm frozen with fear!

Actually my wife knows about it Jammer. I was just playin' wiff youse with the "passive" introduction that Mark called me out on. I was wonderin' if anyone would catch me. He's a sly one that Mark is....
I'm really having problems warming up to the Antidote. I just can't get the mid's right: its either real nasal sounding or I get the blanket over the cab sound. I'm starting to wonder if there is a problem with one of the pre-amp tubes. I'll be doing some switching before next practice.
I'm sure I'll get it sorted, hopefully that's all it is.....

Mine never get nasal sounding. Hmmmm My wife or the amp? That's OK on the wife stuff were all sort of joking.
I hope the A-Dote gets sorted out for you. Never the Blanket or too much mid stuff here.

Ah, er, um, well I guess I, ah, kinda sorta did Dang your good brother! Humm...why would you want to do that to us brother Steve? Sorry you are having troubles. I have no problems getting the best tones of my life out of this amp. It does get quite middy with the EQ bypass engaged, but that's just another tonal option. I am really diggin' just one boost or OD (all flavors sound good so far) and the EQ bypass and guitar volume. That covers just about everything I need. All this is with the AirBrake on 2-4 clicks....or even bedroom settings late at night. OR....0 clicks if I want super clean.....or super LOUD! Love this amp. Z28 & Maz JR are getting very lonely. They will get some love soon though.....maybe...

Gotta be the tubes Steve - I far prefer the Antidote over the Remedy. And you know how good that Remedy sounded!
