Planning on making a purchase soon and it looks/sounds like the M12 is
really hittin the mark, but I have a question or 2. Love the fact that
it eats pedals for lunch and all the demo vids sound great. There's just
not a place less than a few hours away to go test one and I've never
been big on demoing amps at stores anyway.
Is 12w gonna be loud enough? I'm pretty sure it'll be loud enough for
practice, maybe too loud, if they're as legendarily loud as you
read/hear about, but when the time comes to gig will it still do the
trick? I lean on Les Pauls and I have a Strat that I whip out from time
to time and I'll be running it through a pair of Blues or a WGS Green
Beret/Reaper combo.
I like to be able to hear myself, but I was probably always too loud
with my Egnater Rebel 20 in the 2 Avatar 1x12 cubes loaded with Blues.
I've since backed off the preamp gain and leaned on various dirt pedals
for more variation and obviously had to make up some ground in the
volume department and that is what's causing most of the concern here. I haven't played out at all since changing my approach and I noticed I'm pushing the volume alot more since cleaning up the Egnater.
The other guitarist is using an AC15 or VHT Special 12 handwired. The
drummer can be loud, but it also seems like my band's loud is pretty
tame when I read about some of the amps people are using.
We'll probably be sticking to some smaller venues with the occasional outdoor gig.
This will probably get answered from the input on the above, but should I opt for the Brake Lite?
I'm pretty sure this will fit the bill, just have this one concern before dropping the coin. If you don't think it'll be quite loud enough, what are some other amps I should check out?
